Glass Domes: Hero Cosmetics
This project began with a request from stylist and art director Anna Lemi, who reached out to develop a series of glass forms for a Hero Cosmetics campaign. The concept was simple: create a protective barrier around the product using glass: something that would feel precise, minimal, and intentional on camera.
The direction called for variation within constraint. Domes needed to avoid perfect symmetry (slightly oval rather than circular) to keep them from feeling like bubbles, while remaining optically clean and neutral. Alongside the domes, the team also explored forms that could cradle the product, holding it in place within the composition.
Working from a physical sample of the product, we developed custom tools to match its exact size and profile, allowing the glass to be shaped around it. This ensured that each piece would interact precisely with the object it was designed to frame.
The production was compressed into a single session, generating multiple variations of each form. Small differences in proportion, curvature, and thickness created a range of options: subtle shifts that become significant under studio lighting.
What emerges in the final images is a balance between control and softness: glass that reads as both barrier and atmosphere. The forms hold the product without overwhelming it, shaping light while remaining visually quiet.
